In 2013, event founder and promoter Ray Box is looking forward to another record-breaking year at Sydney Dragway. “The Sydney event is one of the fastest growing on the Sports Compact calendar and Sydney definitely has a big, passionate drag racing culture. Many interstate racers travel to the Jamboree events as well – we’re looking for a massive field of entrants from all over the country.”

“We’ve got what we believe to be a well-rounded event, celebrating not only the drag racing but the modified car culture at large,” explains Ray Box. The event boasts a display of some of the state’s finest modified and custom cars, some with in excess of $100,000 worth of modifications. There are also various interactive elements like the sound-off that measures the volume of a vehicle’s stereo and a dyno competition – a simulated rolling road that measures a vehicle’s horsepower.

Sydney Jamboree is in town for a whirlwind tour, with gates opening at 7.30am on Saturday 6th April, 2013. Adult general admission costs just $25, with children under 12 admitted free. For more information, please visit www.jamboree.com.au
