The Basics: Volkswagen is recalling 5,561 examples of the 2015-2016 e-Golf that have production dates between May 21, 2014, and March 1, 2016. The Problem: According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, "oversensitive diagnostics for the high-voltage battery management system may falsely detect an electrical surge resulting in the vehicle's electric drive motor shutting down unexpectedly." Injuries/Deaths: None reported. The Fix: The company will update the battery management software. If you own one: VW began the recall on March 15. |
