After years of concepts, Toyota finally got serious about entering the compact crossover segment with something of its own – the C-HR. After the model made its debut earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show, its interior has finally been revealed. Not surprisingly, it has styling as polarizing as the exterior of the car. The hate-it-or-love-it design won't be to everyone's liking, but makes the C-HR stand out in a bland segment. The most notable feature is the 8-inch touchscreen display that features an improved and redesigned interface with the automaker's slew of connected services. The display and center buttons are slightly skewed toward the driver for ease of use. The rest of the interior is a sea of black/blue, dark grey, or black/brown Nappa leather for highly used surfaces and a leather-like finish for the rest. The controls and other functional elements are finished in technical grain – whatever that is. To help break up the monotony, decorative accents are finished in piano black and satin silver trim, while the clear blue instrument and switchgear illumination matches the exterior's futuristic approach. The front seats look sporty and supportive, with strongly bolstered upper and lower sections. While in the seats, passengers are treated to a JBL premium audio system and more luxury-oriented features like heated seats on the top-range models. From the asymmetrical center console design to the diamond theme throughout the entire vehicle, it's clear that Toyota has spent a lot of time ensuring that the C-HR will stand out, both from the inside and outside. |
